Japanese agrochemical company SDS Biotech K.K. has posted revenue of 7,242 million yen in the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2016, up by 9.1% compared with the same period of last year. Operating income rose by 19.2% to 402 million yen.
Sales of fungicide business were 2,559 million yen (an increase of 390 million yen or up 18.0% year on year). This was mainly attributable to favorable exports supported by increased sales of Daconil products (technical and formulation) for overseas markets and the positive effects of the weaker yen.
Sales of paddy herbicide were 1,715 million yen (almost the same as the last year or drop 0.0% year on year). This was primarily due to the increase in the shipments of Dymron technical and the decrease in the shipment of Benzobicyclon slurry and the Cafenstrole technical.
Greenery-related products recorded a sale of 1,539 million yen (an increase of 188 million yen or up 14.0% year on year) due to the increase in the shipments of the karbutilate technical for Japan and the Dacthal technical for overseas markets.
Sales of insecticide were 1,040 million yen (an increase of 82 million yen or up 8.6% year on year). This was primarily due to the favorable shipments of consolidated subsidiary’s core insecticide products.
Other business posted a 12.9% decrease to 387 million yen primarily due to the decrease in shipments of consolidated subsidiary’s functional fertilizer.
