According to the latest China Agrochemical Market Monthly Report (CAMMR Issue 201509) published by AgroPages, Chinese environmental authorities in various regions have recently strengthened environmental supervision of chemical industrial parks and chemical enterprises, resulting in an intense shock for pesticide production.
Environmental authorities shut down chemical projects
Recently, Chinese environmental authorities in various regions have strengthened the environmental supervision of chemical industrial parks and chemical enterprises. A number of chemical projects and nearly 100 chemical enterprises were shut down in Jiangsu. Hazardous chemical product permits in dozens of chemical enterprises in Shandong were revoked. Pesticide production, which is an important part of the chemical industry, is sustaining an intense shock from the environmental management.
China to speed up upgrading of pesticide management system
There are still large gaps existing between the Chinese pesticide management system and those of developed countries, with respect to pesticide registration, import and export administration, which create an impact in the business operation and market environment. At present, Chinese Ministry of Agriculture is speeding up the formulation of a new management system for pesticide industry, which is included in the 2015 pesticide legislative plan by the State Council of PR China. Furthermore, ICAMA is working toward more scientific and high-efficient management mode, such as the centralized review system for pesticide registration, which started from September 1. Pesticide management system is expected to improve greatly in the near future.
Farm machinery to step into good times of development
A few days ago, the State Council of PR China issued a document regarding the implementation of the “manufacturing power” strategy. Farm machinery was listed as one of the key sectors of manufacturing, where a breakthrough in technology and industrialization would be made. On the other side, international prime farm machinery manufacturers are currently making their deployment in Chinese market. Agco Group has recently initiated collaboration with Alibaba to penetrate Chinese agriculture into a new service mode, to be supported at the same time by its newly established production base. Chinese farm machinery industry will embrace the considerable opportunities for development in the future.
