On the 9th July, an understanding was signed in Beijing between Dow AgroSciences and the National Agricultural Technical Education Service for the purpose of promotion of detection and treatment against crop pest and weed resistance to pesticide. This is another important move of Dow AgroSciences toward the initiative of “pesticide-use zero growth by 2020”, following its successful establishment of the pesticide-use zero growth demonstration base in Guanghan Sichuan in cooperation with the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the signed understanding, Dow AgroSciences will work closely with National Agricultural Technical Education Service to detect pesticide resistance existing with major crops such as rice and wheat, and will select effective pesticide resistance solutions for demonstration so as to provide technical support to the program of “pesticide-use zero growth by 2020”.
