On the 2nd July, to safeguard the quality of farm product and the environmental safety, Chinese Ministry of Agriculture announced a prohibition or restriction of the use of 6 high-toxic pesticides including methidathionin. The details are:
1) Revocation of pesticide registration of methidathion for orange and tangerine crop, of phorate, isofenphos-methyl and carbofuran for sugarcane crops. Pesticide registration of methyl bromide and chloropicrin changed to the use for oil fumigation.
2) From 1st October 2015, methidathion, phorate, isofenphos-methyl, carbofuran, chloropicrin and methyl bromide are prohibited for use in vegetable, fruit, melon, tea, sugarcane and medicinal herb.
