AgReliant Genetics acquires Golden Acres Genetics

United StatesAgReliant Genetics announced that it is acquiring the corn and sorghum seed business of Waco, Texas-based company Golden Acres Genetics. This acquisition complements the continued western expansion of AgReliant Genetics, the third largest corn seed company in North America.
“Golden Acres Genetics is an independent, well-respected leader in the southern seed market,” said Craig Newman, President & CEO of AgReliant Genetics. “The company’s culture, like our own, is based on relationships and consistent, competitive product performance. We believe this acquisition strengthens both organizations’ ability to provide exceptional customer value.”

Golden Acres Genetics has focused on providing professional service and offering customized seed solutions to family farmers since it was founded. Lou Buice will continue to manage the Golden Acres brand and report to AgReliant Genetics’ Vice President of Sales, Bruce Howison.
“Lou has been a strong representative for the seed industry through his work in the Independent Professional Seed Association,” said Howison. “His leadership will be of great value to the AgReliant Genetics organization as we continue our mission to deliver high-quality seed with exceptional service to our seed customers.”
