Chinese agrochemical production down 2% in May 2015

According to National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China’s agrochemical production decreased by 1.7% in May 2015 to 292.42 thousand tons, versus the same period of last year. From January to May, pesticide production increased by 0.37% to 1,502 thousand tons.

In May, herbicides production increased by 1.75% to 134.47 thousand tons, accounting for 46% of the total, while insecticide production decreased by 11.42% to 43.67 thousand tons, making up 15% of the total. The production of fungicide was 14.95 thousand tons, down 27.44%, representing 5% of the total.

From January to May, herbicide production increased by 6.84% to 740.91 thousand tons, making up 49% of the total production. Insecticide was down 21.55% to 208.45 thousand tons, representing 14% of the total production volume. Fungicide decreased by 8.45% to 76.70 thousand tons, accounting for 5% of the total production volume.
