Precision agriculture company Farmers Edge has obtained investment from Mitsui and Co. Ltd., an international trading and investment company.
Farmers Edge works in the field of precision agriculture and offers assistance to farmers in optimizing crop inputs, improving yields and reducing environmental impact through such things as variable rate technology, satellite imagery and weather monitoring.
Mitsui, based in Japan, has offices in 65 countries. It pursues and invests in various businesses ranging from agriculture to minerals, infrastructure, transportation and consumer services.

With their support, we are maximizing our ability to disrupt agriculture worldwide into a more productive, progressive and sustainable model,” said Wade Barnes, Farmers Edge chief executive officer.
Jun-ichi Shibula, a general manager with one of Mitsui’s divisions, said the collaboration “meets our vision of becoming a global business enabler throughout the world.”
