Overview of OECD approved GLP labs in China

With an increasing number of Chinese agrochemical enterprises endeavoring to extend overseas supply chain via independent registrations, the OECD-GLP labs have to face more diverse service requirements from generic chemical companies, besides the comprehensive testing services, part of clients also ask for registration support and marketing support, which will become both opportunities & challenges for GLP labs. Therefore Agropages made a preliminary survey for domestic and multinational GLP labs in China, to help Chinese agrochemical enterprises locate suitable partners to develop overseas market.

Indigenous OECD-GLP labs in China

Today in the agrochemical industry of China, there are total of 11 indigenous Contract Research Organizations (CRO) received the OCED-GLP certifications with physical-chemical testing, 8 of them obtained the OCED-GLP certifications for analytical and clinical chemistry testing, but so far only Shenyang Research Insititute of Sinochem Group received the OECD certification with toxicology and ecotoxicology testing. 3 of them only undertake testing programs from their parent companies, they are FMC(Shanghai) Chemical Technology Co.,Ltd, Rotam Research Laboratory and Pilarquim(Shanghai) Co.,Ltd.

Additionally, Nutrichem GLP Lab is applying for OECD certification of Ecotoxicology testing, and Suzhou XishanZhongke Drug R&dCo.,Ltd plans to apply for AAALAC and OECD certification of Toxicology testing.

Multinational OECD-GLP labs in China

Today there are 11 multinational OECD-GLP labs have agents or established entities in China to extend their business, and all of them come from the countries joined OECD or carried out OECD GLP Mutual Acceptance of Data(MAD)system. Most of them have ability to provide comprehensive testing services such as physical-chemical testing, 5 batch analysis, toxicology testing,as well as field trial, etc. Furthermore, for different target market, some of labs can provide Chinese clients with personalized registration consultancy and marketing strategy & project management.
