China Agchem production down 1.4% in April 2015

According to National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China’s agrochemical production decreased by 1.4% in April 2015 to 297.53 thousand tons, versus the same period of last year. From January to April, pesticide production increased by 4.7% to 1, 203.27 thousand tons year-over-year.

In April, Herbicides production decreased by 6.8% to 132.04 thousand tons, accounting for 44% of the total, while insecticide production decreased by 5.4% to 46.89 thousand tons, making up 16% of the total. The production of fungicide was 18.46 thousand tons, down 12.2%, representing 6% of the total.

From January to April, herbicide production increased by 5% to 606.89 thousand tons, making up 50% of the total production. Insecticide was down 3.8% to 164.80 thousand tons, representing 14% of the total production volume. Fungicide decreased by 2% to 61.79 thousand tons, accounting for 5% of the total production volume.
