The time between an application of a registration and its final result will be reduced by 70% - that is what Brazil's Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Kátia Abreu has promises.
The minister guarantees that the procedures will be faster with the adoption of smarter, more transparent, and quicker methods in the new Agriculture Protection Plan of the country, which computerize and streamline processes to reduce by 70% the time of registration approval.
"We used to spend 24 months on average to complete an analysis procedure, and now we are going to reduce it to 4-8 months. We are cutting expenditures, eliminating contracts, saving each cent to invest more on the agriculture protection plan. Our goal is to make a ministry without papers (without bureaucracy)," affirmed the minister.
According to the minister, there were 4,936 pending analysis at the ministry at the beginning of the year, "Within 100 days, we've completed the analysis procedures of 4,100."
Of all the application, 80% were related to crop protection, such as registration request, label approving, alteration of formulas and registration of various kinds of products, such as rations, genetically-modified products, medicines, and inputs.
