According to a survey of Brazil's National Union of the Crop Protection Products Industries (Sindiveg), China is still the largest supplier of pesticides to Brazil. The Asian giant occupied 26.31% of the market in 2014 with 109,968 kg/l shipped, which means a maintenance of the market share of 2013 (26.32%).
The United States comes in the second position with 21.33% of the shares (equivalent to 89,186 kg/l shipped ) in 2014. This result represented a slight fall compared to the same period of previous year (21.51% or 87,88 kg/l).
The third and fourth positions of major suppliers of agrochemicals to Brazil were Argentina (7.59%) and India (6.27%). While the partner countries at the Mercosur bloc maintained nearly unaltered the market share (a fall of 0.02 percentage points), the share of Indians fell 1.61 percentage point in the period.
It is yet highlighted in the survey the growth of suppliers such as Israel ( 4.39%), Denmark (3.83%), France ( 1.88%) and Belgium (1.09%).
