Sanjeev Gandhi, member of the Board of Executive Directors, BASF SE, has taken over the responsibility for BASF’s operations in the Asia Pacific region, effective May 1, 2015. In this role, Gandhi will be based at the BASF Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Hong Kong.
Gandhi began his career with BASF in a sales role in India in 1993. He subsequently held a number of management positions in marketing, product management and business management between 2000 and 2010. From 2010 to 2014, he was President of BASF’s Intermediates division, based in Ludwigshafen, Germany. He joined the Board of Executive Directors in December 2014.
Gandhi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from University of Pune.
Gandhi succeeds Dr. Martin Brudermüller, who will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer, responsible for Intermediates, Monomers, Petrochemicals, Process Research & Chemical Engineering, Corporate Technology & Operational Excellence, and BASF New Business.
