On April 17, 2015, Semillas Fitó and Futureco Bioscience recently signed a Collaboration Agreement in aim to impulse and generate projects and programs that facilitate and increase the collaboration in the development of products for seed protection and seed nutrition.
With this signature, agree to leverage the expertise of both companies each in their specialty. Semillas Fitó is dedicated to plant breeding and seed trade. Among the different cultivars obtained by Fitó there are horticultural varieties that emphasize quality and taste of fruits, grown in optimal conditions. Moreover, Futureco Bioscience is a biotech company dedicated to the research, development, manufacturing and commercialization of environmental friendly products for plant protection and plant nutrition.
Rafael Juncosa said after signing that "This agreement with Semillas Fitó creates the framework that will allow Futureco Bioscience to explore the activity of their prototypes for protection, growth promoters and anti-stress compounds during the germination phase in various kinds of seeds, and develop a seed treatments pipeline of products that may increase resistance and strengthen the early stages of plant development. Futureco Bioscience has a highly qualified and motivated staff of 17 people that are integrated in different units of the Department of Research and Development.
Eduard Fitó added: "This is a good example of collaboration between companies in different fields. The possibility of this agreement, in addition to generating business, will surely give us ideas, point of view from different angles, and ultimately innovation".
Rafael Juncosa also mentioned “I am convinced that this will create significant synergies between the two companies, that share a common vision based on research and development and the trends towards cleaner production from seed to fruit. Undoubtedly, this agreement will facilitate interesting business opportunities for both companies."
