Chinese pesticide import dramatically increased by 22% in January 2015

According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, the pesticide import volume in January 2015 dropped by 2.9% to 9,000 tons, with import value up by 21.6% to $86.5 million.
In terms of category, the volume of fungicide import decreased by 2.2% to 2,000 tons, with value up by 26.2% to $35.1 million. Herbicide import volume was down by 7.9% to 4,000 tons, while the value largely increased by 36.8% to $26.6 million. Insecticide volume was 1,000 tons, with value down by 18.7% to $13.1 million.

Export specifics
Pesticide export volume in January declined by 7.7% to 114,000 tons, with value down by 14.7% to $371.3 million. Herbicide export volume fell by 8% to 84,000 tons and value dropped by 17.8% to $245 million. Fungicide volume decreased by 5.8% to 7,000 tons, with value of $42.7 million. Insecticide volume dropped by 6.8% to 19,000 tons, with value down by 11.7% to $75.7 million.
