DuPont Crop Protection recently announced the registration of new DuPont™ Express® FX herbicide(Tribenuron-methyl+Dicamba) for pre-seed weed control before planting spring wheat, durum or barley. Express® FX delivers two modes of action, Group 2 and Group 4, as an add-in to glyphosate. Tank-mixed with Group 9 glyphosate, that makes three modes of action and an additional level of protection against the build-up of resistant weeds.
"Agronomic conditions are always evolving, and resistant weeds are now a fact of life on the Prairies," says Katrina Schmidt, Cereals Segment Manager with DuPont Canada. "Express® FX delivers everything that growers depend on with Express®, but with an even more complete approach to proactively manage resistance."
Like Express® SG and Express® PRO herbicides, Express® FX tank-mixed with glyphosate burns the toughest weeds all the way down to the root so they cannot grow back. That includes kochia, narrow-leaved hawk's-beard, dandelion, flixweed, stinkweed and volunteer canola.
"All Express® brands, when tank-mixed with glyphosate, provide growers with a great resistance management tool," says Schmidt. "With Express® FX, growers have an additional mode of action to tackle concerns with broadleaf weeds like kochia, for control that glyphosate alone can't match."
