DS 507 PW, DS 512 PW and DS 538 PW are the three new hybrid corn seeds launched in Argentina's market by Dow AgroSciences. These products were designed to complement the corn portfolio with high potential of yields and crop health covering crop zones.
Corn experts at Dow have shown on real-time the state of hybrids planted last September in city of Monte Buey in the Córdoba province and explained the characteristics of these new materials. The three seeds have PowerCore technology, which allows a better management of plagues and insects, according to the company.
"The proposal is to generate versatile products so that the farmer can select the right combination of hybrids and management according to the needs of each environment," stated agronomist Juan Lariguet, Corn Product Manager.
The company highlights among the advantages of DS 507 PW, the evolution of yields and the adaptation to multiple environments for early and late plantings. "It has a very high potential cap. A density of 80,000 plants per hectare is recommended at the time of harvest," advised agronomist Guillermo Von Borowski who works at the Technical Service of Dow AgroSciences.
About the DS 512 PW corn hybrid, the company said that it has a very high potential for early planting with "good tolerance" to corn viruses, a top concern for Córdoba farmers. "The big winner here is competitiveness for good environments," explains Sudera.
According to Dow, the DS 538 PW was designed for restrictive situations in regions such as the west of Buenos Aires province, the province of La Pampa, and Southwest of Córdoba. Adapted to all environments and mostly to leave diseases at late dates.
