Key Sinochem executives travelled to New Zealand recently to reinforce Sinochem’s long-term commitment to New Zealand’s rural traders.

Sinochem’s New Zealand team launched its new distribution model to leading rural traders, announcing that the Roundup® range in New Zealand will now be distributed under an agency model, with local sale, logistics and management supported by Agritrade.

Managing Director of Sinochem Australia and New Zealand Richard Jagger says farmers in New Zealand can now buy Roundup from Agritrade, giving them timely access to Roundup products and alleviating the risk of holding stock needlessly.

“Farmers can get what they need, when they need, without unnecessary costs,” says Mr Jagger.

Sinochem’s alliance with Monsanto also ensures the Roundup range sold in New Zealand comes directly from Monsanto’s plant in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. The full Roundup range is manufactured to the highest standards, using Monsanto’s technical ingredient and specifications.

Mr Jagger says Sinochem is focused on making it easy for customers to order Roundup products. “Working with our new partner Agritrade in New Zealand will provide certainty of Roundup supply.

“In addition, our customers will also benefit from Sinochem International and Monsanto’s ongoing research and development. We want to support our customers beyond just supplying product. Our role is to understand our customers’ business issues and to add value to how they service their farmer customers,” says Mr Jagger.

The Sinochem team brings a wealth of experience to the New Zealand market. Jagger and his team have extensive combined experience working solely on Roundup products in many major markets around the world, including New Zealand.

Mr Jagger said the company’s senior management team and New Zealand presence is in place and ready to support its New Zealand customers.

“In the coming year, we’ll work with our New Zealand customers to find out what they want and will look to develop a product portfolio specifically for this market.

“Monsanto is currently undertaking research and looking at different formulations to address glyphosate resistance and our New Zealand customers will be among the first to benefit from these product enhancements,” says Mr Jagger.
