Nissan Chemical’s agrochemical business sales rose by 12.6% to 24,182 million yen ($ 202.6 million at the current exchange rate) in the nine months ended December 31st 2014. Operating income was 3,533 million yen ($ 29.6 million), up by 121.9% compared with the same period of previous year. For the third quarter, agrochemical sales were up by 3.6% to 5,700 million yen ($ 47.7 million), and the operating income loss reached 500 million yen ($ 4.2 million).
According to the company, “with regard to the domestic sales, the sales volume of “Roundup” (glyphosate, non-selective herbicide) and “ALTAIR” (paddy rice herbicide) increased. The export sales significantly increased due to the launch of veterinary medical product including Fluralaner in Europe and the USA.”
