AgroPages-BASF herbicide named saflufenacil-Agricultural news

The name of BASF's new herbicide, BAS 800 H, has been provisionally approved as saflufenacil by the ISO's technical committee on pesticide names (TC81). The herbicide is aimed at broadleaf weed control in maize, soybeans and small-grain cereals. It can also be used in fruit orchards and for non-crop applications. BASF expects to make approval submissions in early 2008 in the US, Canada and Australia, with a US launch planned for 2009/10.
