The Farmers Federation (AFA) in Argentina inaugurated its formulation plant of crop protection products in the Comirsa industrial park located in Ramallo, San Nicolás. With an investment of nearly $1.4 million, the plant will have three production lines and a capacity to process 24 million liters of agrochemicals annually in three work shifts.
The project foresees elaboration of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and adjuvant within the parameters of quality and international standards. The construction is expected to respect the legislation in force regarding the care for the environment and will offer supply for third national or foreign companies.
The federation has several proprietary formulation, obtaining corresponding authorizations to commercialize the products such as brands Fidemax and Fideplus. In the same unit, a deposit center for fertilizer was built with a capacity for 25,000 tons.
Regarding the strategic importance of this project, the president of the federation, Néstor Perera, explained that "the decision of working with integration was taken in the productive chain, seeking to improve the supply of some key inputs for our partners and to achieve autonomy and independence of the production of crop protection products."
