One year ago Dow AgroSciences was receiving numerous registrations around the globe for Isoclast™ Active (sulfoxaflor), the company’s newest insecticide offering for the global agricultural marketplace. This set the stage for 2014 to become a significant year of growing sales and industry recognition for Isoclast as it began to make a difference for farmers seeking new solutions to control sap-feeding insect pests.

Sales growth has come from customers in 22 countries now utilizing Isoclast Active in the brands Transform® or Closer® for insect management. Isoclast belongs to a novel chemical class called sulfoximines which was invented by Dow AgroSciences as part of its comprehensive pipeline of new crop protection solutions. Isoclast offers effective control of many significant sap-feeding pests, representing a solution in a $2 billion market segment where needs are currently unmet by biotechnology.

Industry recognition in 2014 illustrates the scientific advancement represented by Isoclast™. The product was named a winner of the R&D 100 Award which honors excellence in innovation, being known as the “Oscars of Invention.”

Future registrations are being pursued to provide farmers around the world access to Isoclast which has a unique mode of action, is effective at low use rates and will be used in important crop groups including cotton, leafy and fruiting vegetables, apples, cereals, citrus, cole crops, grapes and soybeans.
