Syngenta recently launched in China its first and new SDHI fungicide Reflect Xtra, which contains the newest patented ais isopyrazam and azoxystrobin technology. Field trials with this product showed highly efficient control of powdery mildew, increased yield and harvesting period, safety to crops and flexibility in application.
Isopyrazam is a new generation of SDHI (Succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor) fungicide, together with azoxystrobin, both displayed leaf greening effect and increased photosynthesis. Isopyrazam has been registered for more than 20 crops in 33 countries. In October 2014, Syngenta has received approval for isopyrazam from ICAMA, MOA, China, to control powdery mildew of cucumber. Reflect Xtra is the first launched product with isopyrazam In China.
According to Jackson Wang, Syngenta’s Marketing Director of Vegetable Crops, the company is seeking to expand its labels to more diseases and crops, including target leaf spot of cucumber, powdery mildew of water melon, grey leaf spot of tomato, black sigatoka of banana, and rust and powdery mildew on wheat crop.
