Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approved 50 new agchem ais for minor crops in 2014, including pineapples, strawberries, oranges, cucumbers, and carrots.

"This approval will bring more efficiency to combat pests and diseases," said Luiz Roberto Barcelos, president of thelFruits Chamber of Ministry's of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply. According to Barcelos, who is also president of the Brazilian Association of Fruit Exporters, “this was one of the most important decisions in 2014 for productive activity”. The leader admitted the lack of agchem products for minor crops is one of the setbacks to increase external sales. According to him, Brazil has a great production potential to meet the international demand.

The technical advisor of the Fruit Commission Eduardo Brandão, pointed out that the main difficulties of farmers are tariffs and the lack of logistics.
The president of Brazil's Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock, Kátia Abreu, has charged agility from the federal government to release of new agchem products. She announced that will summon the president of Anvisa to the Senate. "We want that he responds to the losses caused for producers.
