Shangdong Luba launches 50% paraquat SG formulation in China

Chinese agchem company, Shandong Luba chemical recently launched 50% paraquat SG (soluble granule) formulation in Jinan, China. The company initiated R&D of paraquat solid formulation in 2006, and has received national registration of SG formulation in 2012. Compared to AS (aqueous solution) formulation, 50% SG formulation is characterized by higher concentration, easy for storage and transportation, good stability and safer to users.
As the second biggest paraquat manufacturer in China, Luba Chemical pocessing the whole production chain of paraquat (from pyridine or pyridine compounds to paraquat), and has annual capacity of 7000 tons.
China banned paraquat AS formulation on July 1st 2014. Registration and production of paraquat AS formulation for export is still permitted, but from July 2016 their domestic sale and use will be banned. Currently there is no ideal alternative product for paraquat. As an essential agchem product, its new formation R&D and production is urgent.
