Huntingdon Life Sciences announces that it will close the majority of its contract research operations at Harlan Laboratories Switzerland, with the exception of Archives and Regulatory Affairs.
The Company will now prepare plans for a gradual reduction in services as studies are completed. This closure process is expected to take around 18 months. The company is committed to completing all of the work currently ongoing at Swiss facility to the same level of quality the company always strived to.
Huntingdon noted that they are not considering the closure of any other sites. Even with this reduction in capacity, the company have over 2000 employees at our 9 contract research facilities offering a comprehensive range of Safety Assessment and Environmental Sciences services, including Toxicology, Analytical, Metabolism, CMC, and Regulatory Consultancy. The company has 7 sites in Europe, 1 in the US and 1 in Israel, with 8 of these sites GLP compliant and the other GCP compliant.
