China-based Jiangsu Agrochem Laboratory Co. recently has received ai registration of herbicides imazamox (98%), which is imazamox’s first approval obtained by Chinese agrochem companies at this concentration. Previously, BASF has received registration of imazamox (97%) and the end-use product imazamox aqueous solution (4%) in China.
Developed by BASF, imazamox is an ALS-inhibiting (acetolactate synthase) herbicide, which has residual activity. Imazamox can be taken up by leaves and roots, and translocated throughout the whole plant, leading to the long-lasting control of many dicot and grassy weeds in the fields of cotton, oilseed rape, alfalfa and legume crops. This product is usually mixed with products such as Imazethapyr, Clopyralid, 2,4-D, imazapyr, Metazachlor, and bentazone.
The global sales of Imazamox in 2012 was $235 million.
