Two laboratories of BASF, non-crop pesticide (Pest Control Solutions) and seed treatment (Seed Solutions), has received the accreditation of “NBR ISO/IEC 17025”, which is considered one of the most rigorous and figures as a quality management and technical competence reference point for testing laboratories. The two labs are located in the municipality of Santo Antonio de Posse in the state of São Paulo.
With the norm NBR ISO/IEC 17025, the laboratory is recognized worldwide for the official studies of non-crop pesticide studies. This means that the test results can be presented as official reports when seeking the registration of new active ingredients. Besides, it enables exchange of research between countries where BASF operates, especially those in Asia.
"This ISO is not only a certification, it serves to prove that a laboratory can perform its activities with precision and guarantee that the final result has a very high quality. Up to now, BASF is the first company of the agrochemical sector to acquire this accreditation", said Reinaldo Bonnecarrere, manager of Functional Solutions Department of BASF’s Crop Protection Unit.
