Oro Agri South Africa has announced the expansion of sales to Ghana and Côte D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). According to Dirk Barnard, Oro Agri South Africa’s Registration and Business Development Manager, the first evaluation and bio efficacy trials have been initiated in both Ghana on tomatoes, and in Ivory Coast on cotton and tomatoes. Dirk visited some local small scale growers in the Yamoussoukro (Côte D’Ivoire) area where they introduced and demonstrated growers and distributors the benefits of OROSORB and OROSOIL.
OROSORB is a unique surfactant based on OROWET® Technoclogy that drastically reduces the surface tension of water. The product improves the performance of Herbicide, Miticide, Fungicide, Nutrient and Defoliant products through improved spreading and coverage of plant surfaces.
OROSOIL is a soil Conditioner used for soil application to improve infiltration rate and drainage of water in soil. Various soil restrictions, such as compaction, hydrophobicity, excessive run-off, poor drainage, poor water holding in sandy soil, etc. can be alleviated to improve root growth, horizontal water movement in drip lines and water holding in some situations.
Growers and distributors have welcomed the safer and affordable option we are promoting and we expect great things for our technologies. Traditionally, growers have had a hard time to locate products, which are then expensive, highly toxic and lack application oversight or training creating a high risk environment for growers to work in.
According to Dirk, our unique and safer attributes of Oro Agri range of products will benefit the growers in Africa as an environmentally safer option. Grower also have significant room for yield increases and initial usage trials look very promising as we continue to support our expansion in Africa.
