Monsanto soybean line closer to approval in US

The USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has reached a preliminary decision to extend nonregulated status of soybean MON 87701 to soybean MON 87751 in response to a request from the Monsanto Company. Soybean MON 87751 has been genetically engineered for resistance to lepidopteran insects, including resistance to fall armyworm beyond that provided to soybean event MON 87701. The public comment on preliminary finding of nonregulated status of MON 87751 will be open after publication in the Federal Register.
The APHIS deregulated MON87701 soybeans in 2011.
