Bayer organizes Nunhems Onion Showcase in Gansu, China

GermanyOn August 13, Bayer CropScience vegetable seeds organized the Nunhems Onion Showcase in Gansu province, China. Nunhems is the global specialist in vegetable seeds and the brand of Bayer CropScience.
As a leader in onion market, Nunhems not only focuses on the promotion of the onion crop, but also leads the onion trends and shares onion information. More than 200 people and experts on onion storage all around China attended the showcase, including experts on onion planting onion dealers and farmers, technical personnel of seed industry
In the showcase, experts from the United States, Spain and other countries shared information on onion diseases, mechanical harvesting and onion storage respectively. The key technologies of safe onion production, quality and safety of pollution-free products, onion production and management mode, and the development tendency of onion industry were discussed. In the end, they provided instructions and suggestions for the development of onion industry in northwest China.
Onion industry occupies an important position in the agricultural economy in Gansu province. In recent years, under the guidance of onion experts from Bayer CropScience, the standardized onion production system and pollution-free production safety system in Gansu are gradually being improved. Currently, the onion planting area in Gansu has stabilized at approximately 1.3 million hectares, with 1.4 million tons of annual output.
This showcase is one of the high-profile and large-scale on-site academic conference in Gansu recent years. It not only promoted excellent local onion brands to customers nationwide, but also exerted far-reaching significance in facilitating the industrial upgrading and sustainable development of onions in Gansu.
