Arysta LifeScience and FMC sign licensing agreement

Arysta LifeScience North America and FMC Corporation have announced the signing of an exclusive licensing agreement in the United States and Canada, in which FMC will develop, market and sell two key turf and ornamental products, DISARM Fungicide (fluoxastrobin) and XONERATE Herbicide (amicarbazone), from Arysta LifeScience. The agreement is effective as of August 12, 2014.

The DISARM (fluoxastrobin) Fungicide line includes four formulations, each specifically tailored to regional climate, disease history and turf-grass variety. DISARM can be used alone or in chlorothalonil-based or DMI-based premixes. XONERATE is a post-emergent herbicide, representing new turf grass chemistry for the control of Poa annua.

“We have built substantial markets for these important T&O products over the last few years,” said Amy Yoder, business unit head of Arysta LifeScience North America. “Licensing the sales, marketing and distribution of DISARM and XONERATE will allow these T&O products to grow at a faster rate and allow us to focus on our growing portfolio of agricultural crop protection products.”

With this agreement, FMC continues its commitment to broaden its range of turf management solutions, including fungicides, insecticides and herbicides.

“This exclusive agreement unites two complementary product lines, expanding FMC Professional Solutions turf and ornamental portfolio and further demonstrating our commitment to grow beyond agriculture to invest in the professional services markets,” said Mark Douglas, president of FMC Agricultural Solutions. “Additionally, this relationship opens exciting new development opportunities for the FMC Professional Solutions turf and ornamental business.”

FMC Professional Solutions entered the turf and ornamental industry back in 1987 with the launch of Talstar insecticide. Over the past decade, the company has broadened its turf portfolio significantly, adding seven new herbicide and five insecticide products, in addition to formulations specifically tailored for industry segments such as golf, nursery, greenhouse and tree care.
