The Brazilian anti-trust agency (Cade) has approved an agreement without restrictions signed in March between Summit Agro International and Iharabras for joint sale of the metominostrobin fungicide in Brazil. The product is used against the Asian rust, one of the main soybean pests in the country.
The partnership includes promotion, commercialization and distribution of the products formulated on the basis of the fungicide. The active ingredient metominostrobin was registered by Summit in ten countries, according to documents delivered to Cade. In Brazil, the registration procedures will be conducted by Iharabras.
Summit, an arm of the Sumitomo Corporation, has 22% shares of Iharabras S.A.
