The Chamber of Agricultural and Fertilizers Health of Argentina (Casafe) has launched a juridical database with agrochemical products available in the South American country.
The database, called Fitoleg, is developed to help the searching and consulting laws and regulations, rules and norms related to crop protection products at national, provincial and municipal level.
Issues such as the agrochemical application, products registration status, ais prohibition, empty agrochemical packages disposal rulings are included. It is considered by local authorities as the most outreaching database designed for this sort of consultations.
According to Casafe, the online database has a goal of "transmitting legitimate and adequate information". It is the result of systemic and organized compilation of all legal provisions, which are updated in real-time. It brings data on agricultural products and environmental laws applicable to agricultural activity.
Fitoleg also offers a section where contributions and questions can be uploaded to the system. These information can be analyzed and responded by agronomists or juridical experts, depending on the requests.
