The Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed continued registration of Dow AgroSciences’s product GALLERY® T&V 75WDG (75% Isoxaben) for sale and use in Canada after the re-evaluation of the active ingredient. PMRA concludes that isoxaben products do not present unacceptable risks to human health or the environment, when used according to the proposed label directions.
Isoxaben is a selective pre-emergent herbicide that belongs to the benzamide group. It is currently registered for control of certain broadleaf weeds in conifer, ornamentals and nurseries in Canada. PMRA also proposed further risk-reduction measures for product labels, including buffer zones to protect non-target habitats and additional standard statements to reduce potential for contamination of food and feed.
This proposal is open for public from June 20th to August 4th 2014.
