EU withdraws approval of acaricide fenbutatin oxide

European Commission has withdrawn the approval of products containing the acaricide, fenbutatin oxide, and has instructed EU Member States to withdraw authorizations for fenbutatin oxide by December 2nd 2014. Any grace period granted by Member States shall be as short as possible and shall expire on December 2nd 2015 at the latest.
To include fenbutain oxide in Annex I again, further confirmatory information shall be provided by the applicant BASF by the deadline. But BASF informed the Commission of its intention not to submit such information. Consequently, it is appropriate to withdraw the approval.
