Huifeng Agrochemical acquires Jialong Chemical

Chinese agrochemical company Jiangsu Huifeng Agrochemical recently announced an intended spending of around US$20 million on acquisition of 53% of the stake of a local agrochemical enterprise - Jiangsu Jialong Chemical.

Jialong Chemical possesses 67 pesticide technical and formulation registrations, which include 11 pesticide technical registrations, such as MAC, benzofuranol, carbofuran, carbosulfan, methomyl, thiodicarb, fosthiazate, thiabendazole, diuron, thiamethoxam, etc. The acquisition will help to enhance the integrity and optimization of the formulation products of Huifeng and Jialong.

Jialong also owns an annual 20,000 tons phosgene production facility. Phosgene is an important raw material for Huifeng Agrochemical, which is used for production of prochloraz, bromoxynil octanoate, diflufenican, bifenthrin, iprodione, trinexapac andlambda-cyhalothrin. The resource integration this time will facilitate the optimization of Huifeng’s industry upgrade.

Huifeng is prepared to utilize its advantages to build Jialong Chemical into a reliable material supplier, and will make use of the phosgene resource of Jialong for a new industry deployment and establish Jialong Chemical to be Huifeng’s second pesticide production base.
