Syngenta has recently named Jill Wheeler head of sustainable productivity in North America. Wheeler will be responsible for ensuring The Good Growth Plan from Syngenta is embedded into the company’s North American business and stakeholder engagement plans.
The Good Growth Plan comprises six company commitments to address the global food security challenge through boosting resource efficiency, rejuvenating ecosystems and strengthening rural communities.
“Jill brings business experience, personal passion and a deep knowledge of our industry to help drive The Good Growth Plan in North America,” said Jessica Adelman, senior vice president, Syngenta Corporate Affairs, North America. “The Good Growth Plan focuses on six commitments for our one world, demonstrating Syngenta’s desire to engage with society while advancing sustainable agriculture for global food security.”
Previously, Wheeler has managed marketing and communications campaigns for a range of leading agricultural and animal health companies. She also has experience in crop protection, seed traits and seed care. Her work launching Rave herbicide at Syngenta earned an EFFIE Award, the nation’s highest honor in marketing effectiveness. Most recently, Wheeler was product lead for commercial traits in the corn product management group.
“Syngenta has ambitious sustainability and business goals,” said Wheeler. “The Good Growth Plan provides us an opportunity to share our culture, to collaborate and engage with stakeholders and to grow our business.”
Wheeler holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from South Dakota State University and a master’s in business from Aspen University.
