In Feb 2014, China’s agchem import volume grew 31.6% to 7,000 tons with import value significantly increasing 62.6% to $ 78 milllion y-o-y, according to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs. Pesticide export in Feb decreased 14.9% to 69,000 tons, with export value at $ 228 million.
For the first two months of 2014, the country imported a total of 17,000 tons of pesticide, import volume grew by 23.1% and value reached $ 149 million. Pesticide export also registered double digit increase in volume and value terms of 10.8% and 14.8% to 193,000 tons and $ 663 million respectively.
Import specifics
Fungicide was the largest category of pesticide import in Feb, with import volume boosting by 94.4% to 3,000 tons. Insecticide import also rose 32.9% to 1,000 tons in volume terms, while herbicide import slid down by 2.7% to 2,000 tons of volume.

Export specifics
Herbicide continued to be the largest category of pesticide export in Feb, while export volume and value both decreased 11.8% and 7.8% to 54,000 tons and $ 170 million. Insecticide and fungicide exported also saw decreases of 9,000 tons and 4,000 tons respectively.
