Chinese agrochemical enterprise Rotam Chemicals plans to submit its 3 proposed standards covering deltamethrin 250g/kg WDG, chlorothalonil TC and chlorothalonil 720g/L SC to the 13th FAO/WHO JMPS for evaluation, which will be held in Belgium in June 2014.
Up to date, Rotam has independently submitted a total of 8 standards to FAO/WHO if including the standards for the 3 products – bifenthrin, deltamethrin and nicosulfuron. The two of these standards have been published officially by FAO; one has passed the evaluation of WHO, to be published on a later date.
Before the last session of FAO/WHO JMPS, Nutrichem used to be the only Chinese company that has ever participated in the preparation of international standards which cover the 2 products – picloram and hexazinone. Now obviously Rotam has become China’s industry leader in the establishment of industry standard.
“FAO and WHO are the highest authorities in the world; to formulate FAO/WHO accepted standard and to manufacture conformable product means that we have obtained a pass to the world market, which also indicates Rotam’s positive move toward the market positions of the world famous enterprises like Syngenta and Bayer that have more influence and control over the market”, said by Garth Drury, the global registration officer of Rotam Chemicals who used to work in Bayer for 15 years.
Jiangsu Rotam Chemicals was brought into operation in September 2000, having become public listed in Taiwan in 2012. Driven by the initiatives of formulation of standard and research of product, Rotam set up a global agro science research center in 2007 and became the first Chinese CNAS and German GLP accredited enterprise among Chinese agrochemical enterprises. With the publication of a number of international industry standards, Rotam Chemicals is gradually setting up its dominant market position home and abroad. Rotam’s business income reached Yuan 1.1 billion($176.3 million at the current rate) in 2013.
