BASF recently launched its fungicide Jianwu® (fluxapyroxad+epoxiconazole), following the fungicide Jianda® (fluxapyroxad+pyraclostrobin) released in March. The fungicide Jianwu® has been registered for control of leaf spot diseases of bananas, and while future registration will cover field crops such as rice and corn.

Similar to the fungicide Jianda®, the launch of BASF’s representational flagship fungicide Jianwu has evoked high expectations from the Chinese pesticide market, which is the reason for BASF to choose China to be one of the first number of countries for the landing of the fungicide Jianwu, according to Wu Zheng, the Senior Sales Manager of BASF Agro,China.

What is different from the marketing strategy of the fungicide Jianda®, the sales of fungicide Jianwu® is totally delegated to China’s Guangxi Tianyuan Biochemistry, where the Board Chairman Li Weiguo expresses that a dedicated company will be established by them to strengthen the cooperation with BASF in respect of registration and marketing of more products in the years ahead.

The product was approved registration as Adexar®(fluxapyroxad+epoxiconazole) in Germany and the UK for cereals in 2012. It has recently gained approval for use in malting barley for the 2014 season in UK.
