FMC Agricultural Solutions recently announced the launch of Solstice herbicide, combines a wide application window with fast performance to manage weed escapes and maintain cleaner fields as part of a season-to-season resistance management strategy. Corn growers have a new dual-action option for postemergence control of broadleaf weeds, including those resistant to glyphosate.

“Even the most dedicated growers can’t always reach every acre to spray right away,” said Matt Hancock, FMC Agricultural Solutions North America segment manager. “Solstice adds another active ingredient to control more weeds, so an untimely rain doesn’t have to mean falling behind and settling for diminished crop performance.”

A flexible and effective choice for postemergence weed control, Solstice herbicide features an application window from emergence to V8 and effective control of 50 weed species, including waterhemp, pigweed and ragweed, up to four inches. With a flexible uses rate of 2.5-3.15 ounces per acre for postemergence applications and 10 month rotation period for soybeans, it is a practical and economic choice for use on the Midwest’s most common cropping systems.

“Solstice tackles weeds that have already emerged and adds another tool to the big picture strategy for corn growers who need to manage herbicide resistance,” said Hancock. “With the power of Solstice herbicide in the tank, growers can have confidence that they can manage some of the toughest weeds, crop yield potential is maximized and acres prepared to stay clean during the growing.”
