The Chinese institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) and Bayer CropScience China recently held a seminar on Chinese biopesticide regulation & evaluation system, where participating experts discussed and exchanged their ideas on China’s present biopesticide development, as well as the law, regulation, documentation requirement and evaluation criteria related to the registration system in China and the world.
Gu Baogen, the vice director of ICAMA expressed that China has studied a lot to encourage registrations of biopesticides. ICAMA is hoping that this Seminar will provide a chance of understanding the successful biopesticide registration experience in other countries to enable more reasonable biopesticide registration policy of Chinese characteristics be formulated to promote the development of Chinese biopesticide industry.
The biopesticide application and registration experts of Bayer CropScience coming from US, Germany and Singapore elaborated on the case studies of US, Canada and Europe which explained in details of the international biopesticide registration system covering requirement on documentation, biological and chemical pesticide testing, chemical property analysis, biological efficacy, environmental risk, safety and toxicity analysis.
