The Indian Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee (CIBRC) has approved the registrations of 5 pesticide technicals at the meeting of the Registration Committee on Feb. 24, 2014, including 3 insecticides, 1 herbicide and 1 fungicide. For registration type, 2 products are the 9 (3) registrations (1 for export purpose), the other 3 products registrations belong to the 9 (4) - "Me-Too” registration.
The CIBRC also granted The Energy & Resources Institutes’ eucalyptus leaf extact containing 0.005% ellagic acid and 0.03% ellagic acid, and Stanes and Company’s pseudomonas fluorescens 1.5% Liquid. These products were approved for extension of validity of certificate of registration for a period of one year with commercialization.

9(3) registrations: This guideline is for registering a new pesticide (technical grade or formulation) or registering a new import source of technical grade pesticide or first time indigenous manufacture of technical grade pesticide or formulation. This is a permanent registration and does not require any renewal.
9(4) registrations: This is Me-too registration for indigenous manufacture of technical grade pesticide and formulations and import of pesticides from already registered source.
