The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has issued reasoned opinions on the modification of the existing MRLs for cyflufenamid in peppers and strawberries. The proposed MRLs are 0.04 mg/kg for both crops.
The Greece, as the evaluating Member State(EMS), received an application from the Syngenta to modify the existing MRLs for cyflufenamid in peppers and strawberries. In order to accommodate for the intended indoor and outdoor European uses of cyflufenamid, the EMS proposed to raise the existing MRLs to 0.04 mg/kg for both crops.
Based on the risk assessment results, EFSA concluded that the intended use of cyflufenamid on strawberries and peppers will not result in a consumer exposure exceeding the toxicological reference values and therefore is unlikely to pose a public health concern.
