BASF recently announced that it has received emergency registration in Brazil for the use of its Pirate® insecticide to control
Helicoverpa armigera caterpillar in oilseeds. The product is already being used for some years in other cultures with effective results.
Pirate® acts "translaminar, it means that when it is applied to the face of an intact leaf against insects including the other side. Moreover, it has excellent shock effect and excellent residual."
BASF recommends: "Apply only the recommended doses. Properly discard the packaging and remnants of the products. Include other control methods within the Integrated Pest Management program (IPM) when available and appropriate."
