On the 9 December, Chinese Ministry of Agriculture issued a Notification under Ref 2032 on further restriction of 7 pesticides including chlorsulfuron. The details of the Notification are as follow:
Starting from 31 December 2013, registrations of all chlorsulfuron products, metsulfuron and ethametsulfuron single-ingredient products shall be cancelled; starting from 31st December 2015, sales and applications shall be banned in China.
Starting from 1 July 2015, the registrations of metsulfuron and ethametsulfuron technical and mixed formulations shall be cancelled; starting from 1 July 2017, sales and applications shall be banned in China. Export and overseas registration of metsulfuron shall be maintained, where enterprises can send an application before 1 July 2015 for a change of existing registration to export and overseas registration.
Starting from the date of this Notification, registration application for asomate and urbacide shall not be accepted; and extending registration not be approved. Starting from 31December 2013, pesticide registration certificate shall be cancelled; starting from 31 December 2015, sales and applications shall be banned in China.
Starting from the date of this Notification, registration application for chlorpyrifos and triazophos for use in vegetable shall not be accepted; and extending registration not be approved. Starting from 31 December 2014, registration for use in vegetable shall be cancelled; starting from 31 December 2016, applications to vegetable shall be banned.
It is understood that after this Notification coming into effect, the sorts of banned pesticides and restricted pesticides in China will reach respectively 38 and 21.
