MBI's Regalia® Maxx Biofungicide Receives International Registrations and Certification

Regalia® Maxx
Category:Biopesticide
The US biopesticide company Marrone Bio Innovations(MBI)announced FMC, the exclusive Latin America distributor for its Regalia® Maxx Biofungicide, has received new product registrations in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. These countries join Panama and Mexico in approving the use of Regalia Maxx in Latin America to control a wide variety of bacterial and fungal diseases across an array of agricultural crops.

Hector Absi, MBI Senior VP of Commercial Operations, comments on these recent registrations, “These new registrations are an integral part of our global expansion plan for MBI products. We have seen strong reception for Regalia Maxx in Mexico and Panama through our partner FMC. We believe the product will fill a real need for growers in these newly registered countries as well. Latin America growers export a large portion of their production and Regalia Maxx, because of its exemption from maximum residue level tolerances, can help them manage the growing concerns about pesticide residues among importing countries.”

In addition to the new product registrations, Regalia Maxx was recently granted OMRI organic certification in Canada. According to Absi, this is another important step in MBI’s global expansion. “The OMRI certification is critical for gaining sales in the rapidly expanding Canadian organic fruit and vegetable market. Canada’s $3.5 billion organic market is the fourth in the world, and is a very important market for us. Organic growers there can now use Regalia Maxx with complete confidence that it will help them meet consumer demand for high quality organic food in this fast growing category.”
