AgroPages-EU approves Isagro's fungicide benalaxyl-M-Agricultural news

The European Commission has announced to approve Isagro’s Kiralaxyl fungicide based on the active ingredient benalaxyl-M under the EU plant protection regulation (1107/2009). It will be formally included in Annex I on May 1, 2014 and will expire on April 30, 2024.

The Commission requires that member states shall pay particular attention to the protection of workers at re-entry; the risk to groundwater from the metabolites BM-M2 (N- (malonyl)-N-(2,6-xylyl)-DL-alanine) and BM-M3 (N-(malonyl)-N- (2,6-xylyl)-D-alanine), when the substance is applied in regions with vulnerable soil and/or climatic conditions.
