Bayer CropScience has officially announced a date for the opening of its Clayton Bee Care facility, situated on 278 acres in Johnston County, North Carolina, US.
The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for Nov. 18, and executives including CEO Jim Blome will be present for the celebration.
Bayer CropScience, which has its headquarters in Research Triangle Park, hopes its center research will mean new apiary approaches that won’t just benefit pollinator health, but the health of the global food supply. Additionally, the site will support scientific research and help educate the public on the honey bee’s place in agriculture.
Bayer CropScience is planning to complete its North American Bee Care Center in Research Triangle Park in the spring of 2014.
