India agrochemical firm UPL has posted 29 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 154.63 crore for the second quarter ended September 30 on account of higher sales.
The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 119.80 crore in the same quarter a year-ago.
Total income of the company increased to Rs 2,331.64 crore during July-September quarter of this financial year from Rs 1,856.02 crore in the same period last year, the company said.
The UPL Ltd, formerly known as United Phosphorus, broadly produces chemicals under two categories agrochemicals and industrial chemicals.
UPL has 23 manufacturing sites, out of which nine are in India, four in France, two in Spain, three in Argentina, one each in UK, Vietnam, Netherlands, Italy and China.
